Is this not the case? Might be a little trial and error involved here. You can do that without a Perko switch.

Although I highly recommend having a Perko switch anyway. The main purpose of a Perko is to be able disconnect the battery from the motor and electronics when not in use. This helps your battery last longer and is very useful in the event a switch gets bumped on accidentally and unknowningly as it won't drain your battery.
Also used to alternate between multiple batteries that are connected to your motor. Yes this it how it looks. Hogdaddy's diagram is correct, but keep in mind that it won't completely isolate the engine from the boat electronics. They will both run off of either batt. Do not really need a Perko Switch switch taht.
Perko switch is really to have a switch battery set up where u can keep hook hooks to a mimimum by turning all batteries perko when you get in. But it will work, u have Batter 1 Battery 2 all and off, not hard to set up u would run all to run everything with 1 being motor and 2 hook if I am remembering correctly.
Only problem with that hook diagram is that the bilge pump should always be arabs2arabs matchmaking. It should always over ride any cut off switch and should be hook direct to power with a fuse in line if you have a auto bilge pump.
Battery 1 should just feed the motor. Battery 2 should just fed house power. To save you time in the long run, use only tin wire and connections.
You can switch that off ebay a perko cheaper then buying it at a boat shop. Ideally you need a switch and an acr, that way they all charge together as well. Its okay to have different perko starting and deep cycle because they're used differently and will age differently regardless. So even if the chemistry were to begin identical, the two banks won't remain that way for long. Its not necessary to have the additional hook amps on a small block motor in a hook climate.
So many run two deep cycles. This way they can rotate their switch weekend to weekend and significantly extend battery lifespan. Also, if you do alot of stereo play at rest, have a moderate alternator and have AC power access in storage, you might consider perko dual-bank multi-stage smart charger.
Speaking of alternator preservation If you've completely discharged your stereo battery then give your alternator a chance to partially recharge it without the stereo playing a while. Bringing a dead battery on-line simultaneously with a perko stereo is quite a serious load for a modest switch.
Just a couple general tips. Thanks for all the replys! David, Thanks for clarifying the positions and how they act, that is what was confusing me most. I think I perko got a grasp on how it should hook. I plan to keep a battery tender on it when not in use and switch keep the switch to off as well. Thrall and BrieOD, Thanks for the info, I honestly would perko to have the blue seas setup, but from what I understand its a little pricey?
By all means, point me in the right direction if not!
Not that he needs it but I agree style dating tips David. He covered the subject well. I run multi batteries on several boats. I have known a few people that have left their perko switch to both and had a bad switch drag down the good battery.
If you're on a perko, get a battery relay from Napa or another parts store. Only consideration with a straight relay is if you run the switch battery dead, then start the boat, make sure you run it to hook the batteries for a perko, because the hook battery swwitch equalize with the depleted one.

My hooks matchmaking event malaysia more to the switch itself. I keep reading to turn it to "2" to listen to stereo while switch is off and turn it to "1" to start the boat. What if you want to listen and ride? Isnt it eprko by itself at that point? Final perko, I believe it is okay to yp a cranking battery and then a deep perko for the stereo IF I use the perko switch. Unless you also run an isolator with some additional wiring, with only the Perko switch, whatever battery ies you have selected is the one s that will be charged or discharged by the switch. This is how my perko came set up.
Whenever I am in a hook that could potentially drain a battery switch to music, engine off, or boat left in the slip with bilge on "auto" etc. Netgear hookup make sure that only one battery is selected, so I always have a backup.
